Dubrea Sanders serves as the Advocate for Black Justice and Policy for Black ECE, leading all advocacy efforts at the California State Capitol.
 
Previously, Dubrea served on Catalyst California’s Government Relations team, focusing on K-12 & Early Childhood Education (ECE) issues and supporting the development and execution of Catalyst California’s statewide advocacy strategy for California’s Youth.
Prior to that, Dubrea served in the California State Assembly for three years, starting as an Assembly Fellow with Assemblymember Jones-Sawyer in 2021, and spent the last two years in the office of Assemblymember Corey Jackson. During his time in the legislature, Dubrea has worked on legislation aimed at combating hate violence through a public health lens, regulating the use of police canines, improving educational outcomes for ethnic groups or marginalized genders, and limiting the use of biased evidence in court cases. 
Prior to joining Catalyst, he served as the lead budget staff for Assemblymember Jackson, the Chair of Assembly Budget Sub 2 on Human Services.

Dubrea was born and raised in Bakersfield, California, and is a first-generation college graduate from CSU Bakersfield, where he received a B.A. in Political Science in 2021. In his free time, Dubrea enjoys watching the NFL, playing sports, playing video games, and volunteering in his community.
